Senior User Interface Designer

Sprout is redefining multimedia development by bringing sophisticated content creation to the masses. Sprout Builder is a web-based authoring platform that allows anyone to quickly and easily build “Living Content” - widgets, mashups, mini-sites, and other forms of interactive and distributable web content.

We launched in private Beta at the DEMO conference on January 29th to rave reviews (and a DEMOGod award) from Techcrunch, ReadWriteWeb, Mashable, and others.

We’re working on adding tons of new features to Sprout, and are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic UI Designer to help make it look usable and beautiful.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience designing interfaces for web based applications
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles & methods
  • Experience gathering and analyzing user requirements and translating requirements into site maps, page flows, and wireframes
  • Strong wireframing abilities
  • Strong understanding of web application design and development processes
  • Good sense of design, typography, color, layout
  • Able to work well with programmers and marketing team
  • Strong Photoshop skills

Nice to Have:

  • A good understanding of Web 2.0 and social media
  • HTML/CSS skills
  • Experience theming for Drupal CMS
  • Experience with Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP
  • Flash skills

This is a full-time position (contract, permanent, or contract to permanent depending on the candidate). Candidates must be located in San Francisco (or open to relocation). Applicants should be comfortable in a startup environment and thrive on a highly dynamic and rapidly evolving organization.
