Music Industry Summer Internship

Social custom radio site Jango.com is currently seeking energetic, motivated people to intern in the SoHo area this summer. Recently named one of “America’s Coolest Internships” by Inc Magazine (http://www.inc.com/multimedia/slideshows/content/americas-coolest-internships_pagen_9.html), our program provides music-lovers a tremendous opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the highly competitive online music space, often leading to entry-level positions in the fields of radio and entertainment.

You’ll be making valuable contributions to the growth of the site - we’ll train you in a variety of roles from marketing, PR, business development, site administration, and customer relations. You won’t be getting anyone’s coffee ;-) Our program is very results-oriented so please be prepared to work hard and learn as much as you can — you’ll have tangible achievements to put on your resume when you’re finished. We’re a small company so you’ll have tons of exposure to different fields provided you stay motivated and work hard. If you’re not quite sure what you want to do but you know you love music this is a great environment to hone in on your strengths for a future career. If you have any interest in online entrepreneurship this is a great opportunity to see how startups become successful.

Computer skills and current knowledge of online trends is highly advantageous, as well as passion for music. If you enjoy keeping up with music trends you’ll be able to help us tremendously.

You should be able to commit at least 1 day per week for 2 - 3 months, after which you will receive a letter of recommendation highlighting your experience, skills, and strengths. Of course we will also always be available for references. This is a non-paid internship, but a lunch and travel stipend is provided. We also plan outings to concerts and throw parties when we hit new milestones!

If interested please respond with a brief email highlighting what you think about Jango, as well as the date you would be able to start and your weekly availability over the summer. Briefly describe your work ethic and please indicate anything specific you hope to learn about during your time with us. Please also send your resume.

Note: If you aren’t able to commute to Manhattan we have a special research-oriented internship with tons of opportunities to learn about online marketing and business development. If this interests you please indicate so in your response.
